Motorcycle crashes into electric post, rider injured

A motorcycle rider was rushed to the hospital after crashing into an electric post in the town of Mapandan.

According to the police investigation, Jomarie Torres Marquez, a 47-year-old construction worker and resident of Barangay Baloling, Mapandan, was driving along the Provincial Road in Barangay Poblacion, Mapandan when he lost control of the motorcycle’s steering handle and collided with an electric post on the roadside. The victim is currently recuperating.

Shabu worth over P100,000 seized in buy-bust

A man was arrested after being found in possession of 18 grams of suspected shabu in the town of Mangaldan during an anti-illegal drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion.

Arrested was John Paul Aguilar Fajardo, alias Jessie, a 33-year-old driver and resident of Barangay Nancamaliran East, Urdaneta City. Confiscated from the suspect were a small packet of suspected shabu that he sold, five large packets of suspected shabu in his possession, a belt bag, IDs, and the marked money used in the operation. Charges are being prepared for filing against the suspect.

Truck crashes into business establishment

A wing van truck crashed into a medical and homecare services establishment, owned by 73-year-old Rosita Manuel Almonte, in the town of Binalonan.

According to the police investigation, Licudini Anas Malliones, a 35-year-old driver from Atok, Benguet, attempted to avoid another vehicle but lost control of the steering wheel while driving along the National Highway in Barangay Bued, Binalonan. The driver and his helper from Burgos, La Union were uninjured.

Child bitten by snake in banana farm

A five-year-old boy was bitten by a snake while playing in a banana plantation in San Carlos City.

The child, who narrated that he tried to pick up the snake, survived as he was immediately taken to the hospital by relatives. The Provincial Health Office reminded the public that in such situations, the victim should immediately be brought in for treatment and never apply alcohol or any other chemical on the wound. There is an adequate supply of anti-venom vaccines in public hospitals in Pangasinan.

Two injured in road mishap

TWO motorcycle drivers sustained various injuries after colliding in the town of San Manuel.

Raymund Quirino Sanidad, a 36-year-old security guard, was traveling along the barangay road of Sitio Namangonan, Barangay Guiset Norte with an 11-year-old child as passenger when they were hit by an oncoming motorcycle driven by Gines Morada Ibes, a 31-year-old construction worker from Barangay Guiset Norte, who was under the influence of alcohol swerved into their lane.

The two drivers were injured but the child passenger was unharmed.
