9 more floating packs of shabu found
NINE more packs of suspected shabu were found by residents along the shoreline of Barangay Gayusan in Agno town on July 9, just a few days after a group of fishermen discovered 18 packs of shabu floating in the waters some 25 nautical miles from the shoreline of Barangay Olanen in Bani last July 6.
A report from P/Lt. Col. Benigno Sumawang, public information officer of Police Regional Office 1, said the nine vacuum-sealed aqua blue plastic packs, all containing a white crystalline substance were recovered at 7:00 a.m. on July 6 and one pack was already opened when these were discovered along the shoreline.
The new recovery happened when they revisited the place to verify their previous discovery soon after seeing an informative leaflet about a similar recovered plastic pack containing suspected illegal drugs.
The inventory and markings of the items were conducted by the police in the presence of representatives of the media, Department of Justice and barangay officials to ensure compliance of mandatory requirements. (Leonardo Micua)
