Pangasinan’s 1,184 drug-cleared barangays – PDEA
THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Pangasinan announced that 1,184 barangays, out or 1,364, have been declared drug-cleared in the province.
According to PDEA Pangasinan Provincial Officer Richie Camacho, only 88 barangays, or approximately 6.45% of all barangays, remain affected by drug-related issues.
In an interview Tuesday, July 9, Camacho said other barangays are still undergoing assessment of their documentary requirements for deliberation and eventual declaration as drug-cleared areas.
Out of the 1,364 barangays in Pangasinan, 92 are officially drug-free.
Notably, there have been no reversals of barangay statuses, and any occurrence would change the drug-cleared status of an entire municipality.
Meanwhile, Camacho said several towns are in the process of applying for drug-clearance status, among these are San Jacinto and San Nicolas. (Ahikam Pasion)
