Bayambang extends its compressed four-day workweek indefinitely
THE compressed four-day workweek in the local government unit (LGU) of Bayambang has been extended.
The Executive Order No. 62 series of 2024 issued by Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao, ordered that the extended four-day workweek shall take effect on July 1, 2024 and to remain in force, unless otherwise modified or revoked.
Mayor Quaimbao earlier issued EO No. 36 series of 2024 adopting a four-day compressed workweek in Bayambang LGU from May 6 to June 30.
The order cited the significant energy consumption savings as a result of the implementation of the compressed four-day workweek.
“The continued implementation of the compressed four-day workweek will enhance the efficiency and productivity of our workforce,” the mayor said.
All offices within the Bayambang government except those with frontline services continue to operate under the compressed four-day workweek schedule, with services starting at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, frontline services like the Rural Health Units, Treasury Office, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, Special Economic Enterprise, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Municipal Engineering Office and Municipal Agriculture Office (field workers) and Bayambang Public Safety Office, will continue working five days a week and regular working hours.
