Another blackmail coming up

FROM where I sit, I view the renewed call of the opposition councilors of Dagupan to sit down in a closed door meeting in a neutral place with Mayor Belen Fernandez to discuss the Supplemental Budget 2 smacks with a lot of suspicion.

It presupposes that unless Mayor Been meets in private with her detractors and agrees to their terms, no supplemental budget will be pushed in the Sanggunian.

I call this as a plain blackmail. With the supplemental budget already as their bargaining chip, the opposition councilors actually believe they can push the envelope and get what they want from Mayor Belen.

But this will never happen. It is immoral and is against the law. And, Belen is not stupid to let them hang the sword of Damocles over her head.

With just four months before all the officials go to the Comelec to file their respective certificates of candidacy for another term of office, these councilors most likely think they can get their palms greased by finally giving a favorable committee report on the supplemental budget.

What this is all about is for them to get their campaign money to put her down in 2025.

Perhaps they already know that Brian Lim is no longer willing to stage a return bout with Belen in 2025, then they do have a serious problem – who’s going to bankroll their campaign to keep their respective posts?

A quid pro quo with the enemy is no longer necessary at this time after the majority seven used their number in the most detestable way, blocking Dagupan’s progress and prosperity for their political agenda.

In her another lengthy speech before the Sanggunian last June 25, Mayor Belen boldly indicated there is no problem if she meets the opposition councilors in private with the supplemental budget as the lone agenda. She recalled that they were a no-show when they realized she was calling their bluffs in the past three or four occasions.

Fingerprints don’t lie.

This widely-accepted principle in forensic science was upheld anew when through fingerprints, the embattled suspended mayor of Bamban, Tarlac,  Alice Leal Guo was unmasked as a fake Filipino.

Since no two individuals have the same fingerprints, Ms. Alice Leal Guo was lying all along through the skin of her teeth when she run for mayor of Bamban, claiming to be a Filipino citizen.

Based on professional examination by the NBI, her fingerprints matched those of Guo Hua Ping, a young Chinese girl who was brought to the Philippines by her Chinese “father” who never returned from Fujian, China where they came from.

All her lies about her citizenship were disproved on the last hearing of the Senate Committee on Women Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality chaired by Senator Riza Hontiveros.

Recall that it was Senator Sherwyn Gatchalian who first presented strong and incontrovertible evidence that Alice Leal Guo was really Guo Hua Ping.

Then based on the NBI data base, another Alice Leal Guo applied and was granted clearance in 2005 with the same birth date and place like the suspended Bamban Mayor but with a different face.

Hinting of a possible identity theft could have happened in the past, this other “Guo” was sought out by the NBI but she could not be found in the address she indicated in her clearance application.

We are not jumping into conclusion here but perhaps the Bamban mayor is really a planted Chinese mole out to infiltrate the inner sanctum of the Philippine government.

Unfortunately, Alice Leal Guo shied away from the resumption of hearing on the POGO scam hubs of Bamban, Tarlac and Porac, Pampanga last June 26 due to “stress and anxiety”.

Watch for another bombshell in the next hearing.
