Guico wants 5 areas developed as Pangasinan tourism hubs
FOUR towns and a city will be further developed and supported as tourism hubs of Pangasinan.
Governor Ramon V. Guico III announced that the towns of Bolinao, Lingayen, Manaoag, San Nicolas (Malico), and the City of Alaminos will be developed as tourism focus areas in the province and development projects will be implemented to further improve the tourism industry in the province.
He pointed out that Bolinao and Alaminos City are already established as major tourism destinations in the western part and to improve the access to the area, the provincial government will build the Bolinao International Airport.
He said there is also a need to develop Lingayen, the capital town of the province which is why the longest reflective pool, a part of the redevelopment of the Capitol Complex, is being constructed and will help the town as a major tourist attraction once completed.
Manaoag is the biggest tourist attraction in Pangasinan, where millions of tourists flock to the said municipality because of the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag Church.
On the eastern part is the historical Malico in San Nicolas, the highest point in Pangasinan.
The development of the four hubs for tourism will have an impact on the whole province, Gov. Guico said. (PRIMO/CCB)
