New Calmay Bridge in Dagupan to start construction soon — DPWH
ONE of the high impact projects of the DPWH in Pangasinan, the Lingayen-Dagupan Diversion Road includes a bridge component that will be built across the Calmay River linking Barangay Carael to Barangay Tapuac, both in Dagupan City through the Jose De Venecia Expressway.
This was announced by he Department of Public Works and Highways saying it will be connected to the Dagupan-Mangaldan Circumferential Road, which is now also under construction. (It will be the second bridge that will cross the Calmay River. The old Franklin Bridge between Calmay and Poblacion Oeste in Dagupan City was washed out by a big flood in 1939).
DPWH Regional Director Ronnel Tan also announced that the construction of the Lingayen-Dagupan Road via Binmaley through the Jose de Venecia Expressway is ongoing.
Also under construction is the extension of the Baywalk in Lingayen to Binmaley and to Dagupan.
Director Tan also announced the completion on the Pangasinan side of the Mangatarem-Sta. Cruz Zambales Road (named as Daang Kalikasan). He said to date only the Zambales side is not completed.
Other ongoing projects in Pangasinan are the Malasiqui Diversion Road, the San Carlos City bypass road, the Binalonan bypass road, the Binalonan-Laoac diversion road and the bypass road connecting Villasis and Sto. Tomas.
Already completed are the Urdaneta and Villasis bypass roads.
Also under construction is the Bolinao to Dasol Coastal Road.
Meanwhile, a connecting road from Nueva Vizcaya to the Tarlac-Pangasinan La Union Expressway in Rosales town and the Tayug-Asingan bypass road via Agno-Gozon are now also under the construction.
A bridge that will link Poblacion Bolinao to Santiago Island located in the northeastern side of the Lingayen Gulf is being constructed. (Leonardo Micua)
