Farmer arrested for drug trafficking

A farmer was arrested after being caught with illegal drugs in Malasiqui town.

The police conducted a drug buy-bust operation on Rizal Street, Brgy. Poblacion, against the suspect identified as Sonny Ico Balberan, also known as “Bernard,” 39 years old, a resident of Brgy. Nalsian Sur, Malasiqui.

The suspect sold a packet of suspected shabu to an undercover buyer for P1,000.

Recovered from him were the marked money and a packet of suspected shabu weighing 0.40 grams with a street value of P2,720.

Taxi driver arrested in buy-bust in Asingan

THE police entrapped Jefrey Descalsote Otico, 35 years old, a resident of San Carlos Heights in Baguio City, in an operation in Brgy. Macalong, Asingan that resulted in his arrest.

Confiscated from the suspect were: packet of shabu weighing 0.20 grams valued at P1,360.00 pesos, two packets of suspected shabu weighing 0.40 grams valued at P2,720, five hundred pesos buy-bust money, and several other items.

Charges for violating RA 9165 are being prepared against the suspect.

Businesswoman arrested for drug trafficking in Binalonan

POLICE nabbed a businesswoman for pushing illegal drugs in Binalonan town.

The buy-bust operation conducted by the police in Barangay Sumabnit, led to the arrest of Janet Pepito Imperial, 38 years old, a resident of 7 Purok 19 San Carlos Heights Irisan, City of Baguio, Benguet, originally from Ragay, Camarines Sur.

Among the items recovered were: packet of illegal drugs weighing five grams valued at P34,000; a pink backpack containing five packets of dried marijuana leaves weighing 52 grams, buy-bust money, and a cellphone. She has been charged with violating RA 9165.

Car hits child playing on the street

A ten-year-old child suffered injuries in various parts of his body after he was hit by a car while playing in Malasiqui town.

According to police investigation, the victim, Melvin Angelo Agudo Soriano, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, was being chased by a playmate when he .ran to the road, where he was accidentally hit by a car driven by Christian Maynigo Casiño, 26 years old, a resident of Barangay Doyong in Calasiao.

Casiño voluntarily surrendered to the police.

Two young men jailed for burglary in Sual

TWO men identified as Kenny Sotto Ramiscal and Sammy Cunag Sotto were jailed after they were caught stealing P3,000 inside a house in Sual town.

Jemimah Dona Lucas, 46 years old, resident of Brgy. Seselangen, turned over the two suspects to the police.

The police first received a call from the barangay captain, Clifford Ibañez, about two burglars caught for stealing  in a house in the area. Barangay officials turned over Ramiscal from whom barangay officials confiscated a packet of P600 worth of dried marijuana leaves and five bullets of caliber 9mm.

However, suspect Sotto managed to escape but the police eventually caught him from whom bullets of cal 9mm and cal. 45, and a motorcycle were confiscated. Charges are being prepared against the suspects.

12-year-old electrocuted in San Carlos City, dies

A 12-year-old boy in San Carlos City died after being electrocuted.

John Mathew De Guzman, resident of Barangay Doyong, was with his cousin when he attempted to retrieve a kite from a tree and came into contact with a live electric wire.

De Guzman dropped dead on the ground.

Local police are investigating the circumstances leading to the incident.

Man charged with child abuse in Umingan

A 39-year-old man has been charged with child abuse for assaulting a child who was playing with his son in Umingan town.

According to police investigations, the suspect became enraged after the child allegedly took his son’s toy.

The repeated blows by the man caused the child’s ear to bleed.

The incident occurred in the last week of May but was only reported to the police on Monday, June 3.
