TWENTY-FIVE Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) at theĀ  Pangasinan Provincial Jail (PPJ) in Lingayen have started to apply the new skills they learned from a 29-day training in the Organic Agriculture Production National Certificate (NC) II course.

The program was a collaborative effort between the PPJ and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Provincial Training Center, to equip the inmates with valuable skills.

Antonio Santos, PPJ administrative assistant, said the training not only enabled inmates to earn by selling their produce but prepares them as well for reintegration into the community as entrepreneurs.

Each inmate trainee received a P 4,640 support fund for the entire training period.

The training covered topics such as natural farming concoctions and the use of natural pesticides, providing the inmates with practical and sustainable agricultural techniques. (Ahikam Pasion)
