Sen. Bong Go opens 2nd Malasakit Center in Pangasinan
THE 2nd Malasakit Center in Pangasinan and the 165th in the country was inaugurated at the Conrado F. Estrella Regional Medical and Trauma Center in Rosales.
Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, in collaboration with the Department of Health – Ilocos Region and the local government of Rosales led the ceremonial opening last May 10, 2024.
As chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Go‘s advocacy is for poor Filipino citizens to have quick access to healthcare services throughout the Philippines under the Malasakit Center Act which he authored in 2019.
The Malasakit Center functions as a one-stop-shop for various government agencies such as Philippine Health Insurance and Corporation (PhilHealth), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) with the aim of helping underprivileged people in minimizing their hospital expenses and providing medical assistance programs.
“This new Malasakit Center is for poor and indigent patients who are in dire need of financial and medical support. Our goal is to make medical services more accessible for everyone, especially to our underprivileged countrymen”, Sen. Go said.
