Ancestral house in Asingan razed

AN ancestral house in Asingan owned by the Orallo family in Barangay Macalong, was left in ruins after a fire broke out at 6:30 a,m, Tuesday, May 07.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Asingan was quick to respond to the fire caused by faulty electrical wiring but because parts of the house were made of light materials, the fire spread rapidly, burning all their belongings. The fire also claimed the lives of the family’s pedigree puppies. Fortunately, no other houses were affected by the fire.

In the aftermath of the incident, Mayor Carlos Lopez Jr. visited the site and extended financial aid and food packs from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office will also provide separate cash assistance to the affected family.

Motorcycle collides with truck, rider dies

A 20-year-old delivery rider was killed while his back-rider was injured when their motorcycle collided head-on with a truck in the town of San Jacinto.

According to police investigation, the motorcycle driven by Maxine Pailanan Dacanay, with Mac Pailanan Dacanay, a 27-year-old digital artist, both residents of Brgy. Sta Maria, San Jacinto, crossed the lane of the oncoming truck driven by Reynold Lana Bingayen, 33 years old, a resident of Brgy. Sibul, San Miguel, Bulacan.

All the victims sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital. However, Maxine Dacanay was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Police arrest woman wanted for forgery

POLICE arrested a 58-year-old woman on charges of document forgery.

The accused, Nerissa Ritumalta Tagalicud, a resident of Brgy. Bobonan Pozorrubio, was apprehended through a court-issued warrant of arrest.

Tagalicud is facing charges in Zamboanga Sibugay for crimes related to Falsification by Private Individual and the use of falsified documents.

The court has set a bail of 36,000.00 for each case.

Over 70K worth of marijuana seized in Lingayen

POLICE seized over 70,000 pesos worth of marijuana leaves from the home of a 32-year-old man in Brgy. Pangapisan Sur, Lingayen.

Acting on a search warrant served by the Lingayen Police Station, led by PLt Col Vicente Castor Jr, the authorities also confiscated two packages of dried marijuana from the suspect.

The arresting team of the Lingayen PS and the Pangasinan PPO took the suspect to the custodial facility of the Lingayen Police Station.

He is facing charges for violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
