BFAR FISH CAGE PROJECT FOR FISHERFOLKS

MAYOR Belen Fernandez and Mr. Cris Cantor, fishing regulations officer and Provincial Fishery report officer, lead the awarding of some 5,400 bangus fingerlings to fisherfolks under the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Field Office 1’s Techno Demo Project, also as part of the Bangus Festival celebration.
The Techno Demo package includes two units of collapsible 5×6 fish cages with one unit composed of 2,700 fingerlings that can benefit five fisherfolks or a total of 10 project beneficiaries. Other inclusions are rollers, weighing scales, coolers and crates. The package comes in addition to five fish cage units previously awarded to Dagupan last year. The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the said project which will serve as a source of livelihood for their families. (Dagupan CIO News)

‘LIBRENG PALIGO’ IS BACK IN BARANGAYS
SCHOOL children in Barangay Lucao take a morning shower assisted by Mayor Belen Fernandez, Liga ng mga Barangay President Councilor Marcelino Fernandez, city department heads, Lucao Barangay Council, barangay health workers, work immersion student-trainees and volunteers on May 3 at Purok 5 as the ‘Libreng Paligo’ project of the mayor makes a comeback this summer.
Vitamin A supplementation and oral polio vaccines were also given to the youngsters along bowls of warm sopas and pandesal plus other freebies while City Nutrition Action Officer Ana Mariel Visperas gave a lecture on healthy diet. Pregnant women, meanwhile, received health teachings on prenatal checkups, vaccinations, breastfeeding and healthy diet from City Health Officer Dr. Ophelia Terrado. NATIONWIDE JOB FAIR DURING LABOR DAY.
JOB seekers in Dagupan City and Pangasinan participated in the Job Fair with Wellness Service at the CSI Mall Atrium last Wednesday, May 1. The event was part of the observance of the 122nd Labor Day Celebration that coincided with the Bangus Festival.
Massage therapy and beauty care for FREE were among the services provided all workers of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) with Supervising LEO Ferdinand Merrera, DOLE Region 1 under the leadership of Exequiel Ronie A. Guzman represented by Mediator-Arbiter Atty. Amado Gasmin and DOLE-Central Pangasinan Field Office headed by Ms. Agnes Buccat-Aguinaldo, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), TESDA, Public Employment Services Office led by PESO Dagupan Manager Joy Siapno, and Maxima Technical & Skills Training Institute, Inc. Aside from the Job Fair, other activities organized for workers, i.e., learning session for DOLE organized group and TUPAD beneficiaries payout, at KADIWA NG PANGULO held at the CSI Stadia.
Oyster farmers received 40 units of floating oyster rafts and other equipment to support their livelihood. (Dagupan CIO News)
