Barredo tops Open Masters bowling to tourney
LUIS Barredo of Dagupan City, now playing for the Sta. Lucia East Bowling Association ( SLetba) ruled the Open Masters division in the 8th GMTBC ICS/KwikPrint Open Championship finals at the Sta. Lucia East Bowling Center in Cainta, Metro Manila.
The 20-year-old outlasted two veteran bowlers Jeff Chan and Benshir Layoso, to win the crown.
Barredo, grandson of Dr. Romulo Tabayoyong of Dagupan City, first crushed Chan in the stepladder stage, 278-225, then stopped the twice-to-beat Layoso, 187 and 196.
It was the first major title of Barredo, who was formerly a member of the Dagupan Tenpin Bowling Inc.
Barredo is a members of the RP Team.
A total of 39 bowlers qualified for the finals in week-long tournament. (Leonardo Micua)
