RESIDENTS of Sitio Nibaliw in Barangay Bued, Calasiao town, are alarmed and fear the presence of a possibly monstrous snake in their neighborhood after they found its shed skin Wednesday morning, February 28.
According to a resident who refused to be identified, the shed skin seems to be incomplete, hinting that a part of it is still attached to the snake.
As residents’ and netizens’ concern grew about the kind of snake that could be lurking in their area many asked: “To what kind of snake does the skin belong to?”
A Facebook group, PHILIPPINE SNAKE ID, whose members are all snake enthusiasts agree on one thing: the shed skin belongs to a reticulated python more than 20 feet long.
This was not the first time a snake this long was found in Pangasinan. There have been several instances when pythons as long as 35 feet were found in areas near a river .
Residents suspect the snake is also responsible for the number of missing animals in their area.
So the hunt is on.
However, the snake enthusiasts request one thing: not to kill the snake, but instead turn it over to authorities. (Ahikam Pasion)
