UL student bags gold in NL Karate Championship
UNIVERSITY of Luzon’s John Paulsen Singsing displayed exceptional karate skills against his opponents to seize a gold medal in the 55 kg Male Seniors Kumite 18yo and about category at the Annual Northern Luzon Karate Championship last February 11, 2024 at Benguet Sports Complex.
Singsing outplayed six karate jins in his division and produced an unblemished win-loss record in the tourney. His preparations stood on execution of precise techniques, body conditioning and mental focus to outsmart his opponents in point scoring.
“Competing against the best karate jins in the region is already an achievement for me, earning the gold is the result of my hard work and dedication to the sport.” Singsing said.
Eighteen-year-old Singsing, who hails from Barangay Germinal, Bolinao town is a first-year college criminology student at the UL. (Kim Gealogo)
