Pangasinan records hottest day last Tuesday
IS it going to be summer soon?
After seemingly endless cold mornings in January, the province recorded its hottest day this year so far on Tuesday, February 06, 2024.
PAGASA temperature reveals Pangasinan recorded 33.8 degrees Celsius of temperature at around 2PM, or 2.3 degrees higher than the normal maximum temperature recorded in the province during the month of February.
As of 9 p.m. same day, temperature dropped to 26 degrees Celsius – still higher than normal.
The higher temperatures have continued until the weekends due to dominant easterlies.
Easterlies are warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.
This means the country is in a ‘monsoon break’, a dry period which could last days or weeks.
However, PAGASA said to still expect colder week ahead because the Northeast monsoon or amihan makes a comeback – perhaps for the last time this season. (Ahikam Pasion)
