Agno, Bautista towns certified ‘drug-cleared’
THE towns of Agno and Bautista have been added to the list of drug-cleared municipalities in Pangasinan by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
PDEA Pangasinan provincial director Rechie Camacho said with the addition of said towns, there are already 32 municipalities in the province declared clear of illegal drugs.
Bautista was awarded its drug-cleared status certification on January 16, while Agno received its certification on January 18.
Agno was earlier declared drug-cleared back in 2019, but lost its status after then-President Rodrigo Duterte declared one of its barangays to be drug-affected.
Camacho thanked the local police, officials, and the public for their valuable contribution in ridding the town of illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, the four cities in the province namely Dagupan, Alaminos, San Carlos, and Urdaneta, remain drug-affected.
“Kailangan mas active ang BADAC at MADAC natin, at mas tututukan ang pagsupil sa grassroots level”, he advised the drug-affected towns and cities. (Ahikam Pasion)
