Provincial Health Office records more flu cases
THE Pangasinan Health Office (PHO) reported a 39% increase in the number of influenza cases among Pangasinenses this year.
Based on the PHO data, 3,201 cases of the disease were reported for the period January and to date compared to the 2,300 flu cases over the same period in 2022.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Cielo Almonte said people frequently acquire flu during cold season, and immunocompromised people such as elderly adults and children are those most vulnerable to flu.
Dr. Almonte advised the public to take their medications as prescribed on a daily basis and to get enough exercise, sleep, food and water. (Kim Gealogo)
