DPWH: No authorized solicitation of cash or donation from contractors
THE regional office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) again warned the public of a criminal syndicate purporting to be with DPWH and invoking names of officials of Pangasinan Second Engineering District and of the Second Highway District Engineer of Pangasinan in soliciting contributions and donations from contractors.
DPWH Region 1 said the syndicate has been using the names of its two officials, DPWH District Engineer Edita Manuel of the Pangasinan Second Engineering District , and OIC Assistant Engineer Eldred M. Mislang of Pangasinan IV Engineering District to make the solicitation for case appear to be authorized for a project of the DPWH.
These calls were made through mobile numbers 0962-812-6903 and 0945-341-2072.
In its disclaimer on December 11, the DPWH said: “Let it be known that District Engineer Edita L. Manuel has neither solicited nor authorized any solicitation and shall in no way do or cause the doing of the same… and should be ignored. ”
