BIR Calasiao urges public to apply for Digital TIN

THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue District Office in Calasiao town urged the public to apply and register for the digital version of their Tax Identification Number (TIN) IDs.

Aldrin Camba, Revenue District Officer of BIR Calasiao, made the call after the BIR Head Office introduced the system to help speed up processes of documents with the TIN IDs.

As with the TIN ID cards, application for the digital TIN also follows the same procedure, minus the long queues at RDOs just to have one. However, individuals with already existing TIN ID cards should also register online to have their own digital TIN.

The applicant is required to fill-out a form at orus.bir.gov.ph, must upload an ID photo, and documents verifying a taxpayer’s birthdate and address.

The Digital TIN may be used as a valid government-issued ID, and is therefore acceptable in transactions involving identification cards.

Taxpayers with already existing TIN ID cards may be required to update their contact information at the nearest RDOs prior to registering for a digital version.

With the Digital TIN roll out, Camba said the BIR hopes that taxpayers will find ease and comfort in their respective transactions.

Camba reminded that the Digital TIN ID is free and not for sale.

“Maiiwasan na yung mga fixers lalo sa social media na nag-aalok ng pag-apply ng TIN. Pangako ng iba sa kanila mura at mabilis lang pero scam pala,” he said. (Ahikam Pasion)
