UL Golden Cubs win first their match
SM NBTC NORTH LUZON QUALIFIERS
THE University of Luzon Golden Cubs prevailed over the PhilCST Topnotch, 96-90, in their debut match in the SM National Basketball Training Center Luzon Qualifiers at the Dagupan City People’s Astrodome last November 19.
Sixty-eight teams joined the local qualifiers for the regional championships where only four teams from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will advance to the national finals that will challenge some of the powerhouse teams in Metro Manila and invited foreign hoops clubs.
UL head coach Gilmark Meneses said his team deserved to win after diligently working on their training for the past weeks, determined to represent Pangasinan in the national basketball championship.
The NBTC regional qualifiers seeks to scout new breed of basketball talents and develop grassroots players.
The North Luzon championships is set to kick-off on January 18, 2024 in Laoag City. (Kim Gealogo)
