128 barangays in Pangasinan still ‘drug-affected’
THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency reported that 9.38 percent of 1,364 Pangasinan barangays still have to work on being ‘drug-cleared’.
The statics show that as of October this year, there are still 128 barangays in Pangasinan that remain drug affected.
The data released by PDEA Regional Director Joel Plaza during the Kapihan sa Ilocos forum of the Philippine Information Agency on November 13 showed that there are already 1,236 barangays of the province that have been drug-cleared up to the third quarter of the year.
The data showed Ilocos Sur has 124 barangays to be drug-cleared; Ilocos Norte has 73 barangays more to be drug-cleared, while La Union still has 41 barangays to be drug-cleared.
Overall, according to PDEA Director Plaza, Region 1 has a total of 366 barangays or 11.20 percent of its total 3,267 barangays yet to be drug-cleared while 2,901 or 88.80 percent have already been drug-cleared. (Leonardo Micua)
