Reelected barangay chair dead in freak accident
THE reelected chairman of Barangay Cobol in San Carlos City died after he was run over by a truck Tuesday morning, November 14.
Victim was identified as Alejandro ‘Alex’ Calugay.
Police investigation showed Calugay was riding his motorcycle with his wife, traversing Perez Boulevard along Barangay Ilang in the city when he lost control of the motorcycle that caused them to fall on the road.
Unfortunately, a dump truck containing sand, gravel, and stones owned by a construction company in the city, following them failed to evade the couple on the road on time and run through Calugay. His head was crushed despite wearing a helmet.
His wife who was not hit by the truck, survived the fall with minor injuries.
The police are still determining accountability of the truck driver. (Ahikam Pasion)
