Dasol seeks to plant 12,000 mangrove trees by year end
UP to 12,000 mangrove seedlings are targeted to be planted along the Maasin River in Dasol town up to the end of the year.
This was revealed by Mayor Rizalde Bernal when he launched the town’s mangrove planting program on October 31.
Bernal said the mangrove planting programs of the municipality is being supported by different non-government organizations and beneficiaries of Tulong Panghapan Buhay for Disadvantage Displace Workers (TUPAD).
The program, he said, primarily focuses on the need to restore the ecological balance along the Maasin River and boost tourism.
