Bolinao among DOT’s Top 15 winners
TOURISM CHAMPIONS CHALLENGE
BOLINAO has been recognized for its efforts in promoting local and national tourism.
It is one of the 15 local government units across the country cited by the Department of Tourism (DOT) for its active tourism promotions activities.
The Bolinao LGU and 14 other winners will receive a combined amount of P180 million cash incentive from the DOT for its Tourism Champions Challenge (TCC) program.
The other cited LGUs are Ambaguio (Nueva Vizcaya), Sablayan (Occidental Mindoro), San Jose (Romblon), and Socorro (Oriental Mindoro).
The TCC is a nationwide campaign launched in February that encourages tourism development among cities and municipalities. It incentivizes LGUs to propose tourism projects to spur economic development across the country’s regions.
DOT Region 1 Director, Joseph Francisco Ortega commended Bolinao’s officials for their hard work and dedication in showcasing their local culture and heritage.
Ortega also expressed hope that more LGUs would participate in the TCC in the coming years.
“Sobrang saya natin kasi Bolinao LGU officials just put in the work and di na po nila ine-expect na mananalo sila and that’s what makes a winner because they do it for the fun and pinapakita lang po nila yung kultura na meron sila.
