ON Saturday, October 7, eleven national high schools in the Fourth District received computer sets, courtesy of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and Rep. Christopher de Venecia.

De Venecia said PAGCOR is sharing a portion of its corporate income to rural schools to empower students with the tools to enhance their digital technology skills. “This initiative “aims to equip them with the knowledge needed to keep pace with modern times and improve their prospects for future employment,” the legislator added.

The computer sets were distributed to Bonuan Boquig National High School, Salapingao National High School, Judge Jose de Venecia Sr. Technical Vocational Secondary School, San Jacinto National High School, Baguinay National Vocational High School, San Fabian National High School, Ambalangan Dalin Secondary School, Lobong National High School, Cabanbanan National High School and David National High School.

While expressing their gratitude to PAGCOR and Congressman De Venecia for the computer sets, the school principals and teachers also took the opportunity to request for additional classrooms for public schools in the district.

De Venecia explained that due to budget constraints, he could only allocate classrooms for Dagupan and San Jacinto this year but assured them that he forwarded the other requests for more classrooms to the Department of Education. (Leonardo Micua)
