DOST offers tech upgrade for MSMEs
THE Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is inviting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Pangasinan seeking technological upgrades in their production, to submit proposals and avail of the Small Enterprises Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) for 2024.
Engr. Arnold Santos, the provincial director of DOST-Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO), announced that qualified MSMEs keen on upgrading their businesses through technological advancements can submit a letter of interest to access SETUP assistance to be included in the list of 2024 SETUP beneficiaries.
SETUP is a technology assistance program designed to help firms address technical challenges through technology interventions and technical assistance and consultancy services.
To qualify, Santos said MSMEs must have a minimum of three years of operation and wholly-owned by Filipino citizens.
Qualified MSMEs span various sectors, including food processing, furniture, gifts, housewares, decors, handicrafts, marine and aquatic resources, aquaculture, agriculture, forestry, livestock, metals and engineering, health and wellness products and services, halal products and services, information and communication technology (ICT) or electronics, and other regional industry priorities.
In the current year, DOST-PSTO already provided technology upgrades to 17 MSMEs in Pangasinan, with a total project cost of P15,100,460.
