DPWH bares update on ongoing projects in Dagupan
ELEVATION of A.B. Fernandez East leading to Barangay Tambac is almost complete while works on two of four projects on Arellano Street are now going on.
This was the update given by Engr. Rapunzel Claveria of the second Pangasinan Engineering District, on the ongoing projects of the Department of Public Works in Dagupan City.
She said the other two projects on Arellano Street (also elevation of road and construction of a wider drainage canal) have not yet started but the contractors of the same already received the Notices to Proceed (NTP) from the DPWH regional office.
Construction of A. B. Fernandez, from Traffic Post No. 1 to Quintos Bridge has just started after its contractors received NTP from the DPWH regional office.
Claveria also said the contractor for the elevation and construction of drainage system on M.H. Del Pilar Street just received its NTP and may start its projects soon.
She said there is a proposal from her office for the expansion of the project on M.H. Del Pilar Street (in front of SMC Center Dagupan) up to Villaflor Hospital in Mayombo, also a flood-prone area.
NTP was also recently issued to the contractors that will undertake the projects from the junction of Perez Boulevard up to the Magsaysay Bridge and work may start soon.
Still proposed for funding by DPWH regional office are the elevation of road and construction of drainage system from St. John the Evangelist Cathedral to YMCA, and from YMCA to Magsaysay Bridge on Perez Boulevard.
Claveria showed photos taken during the floods on all the sites where DPWH is building or is set to build higher roads and drainage canals in a bid to justify the construction of higher roads and drainage system. (Leonardo Micua)
