Two MSMEs benefit from DOST-SETUP
TWO micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Pangasinan received P715,560.00 under the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)–Pangasinan.
According to Jennifer Fernandez of DOST-Pangasinan Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO), P449,000 was awarded to Mimi’s Cacao Processing, a tablea processor in Mangaldan town while Tees Digital Arts and Prints, a souvenir items and signage maker in the municipality of Laoac, received P266,560.
“SETUP Fund is provided by the DOST to support local enterprises in adopting technological advancements to improve their business operations to enhance the productivity, production efficiency, and overall income of the assisted MSMEs.
Under the memorandum of agreement signed by the firms with DOST, the two are expected to utilize the funds to acquire technology interventions relevant to their specific industries.
“By embracing these technological upgrades, Mimi’s Cacao Processing and Tees Digital Arts and Prints are projected to experience significant improvements in their daily processes, allowing them to produce higher-quality goods and services while optimizing their resources,” she added.
The PSTO-Pangasinan will actively monitor the progress and implementation of the funded projects in order to maximize the positive impact of the funding on the local economy and the overall business landscape in Pangasinan. (PIA Pangasinan/EMSA)
