“UNMODIFIED OPINION”

FOR the first time in Bayambang’s governance history, the local government was given an “unmodified opinion” rating by the Commission on Audit (COA) in its Annual Audit Report.

In Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao’s State of the Municipality Address last week she said “unmodified opinion” is the highest rating that an LGU can earn from COA.

“Ang ibig sabihin nito, kitang-kita at tama ang napupuntahan ng bawat sentimo mula sa pondo ng lokal na pamahalaan,” the mayor said.

She said COA found all the financial transactions of the municipal government were in order, and no discrepancies noticed in the management of public funds and properties adding that it is proof that public trust given the administration of Quiambao-Sabangan did not go to waste.

Meanwhile, in the town’s official Facebook page,  Internal Audit Unit Head, Erlinda Alvarez, posted, “This is the result of the joint effort of everyone through the good leadership of Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao and Special Assistant to the Mayor, Dr. Cezar T. Quiambao.” (Eva Visperas)
