No ready solution to traffic woes around ‘junction’

THE worsening daily traffic situation along AB Fernandez East Avenue in Dagupan City is taking its toll on patience and frustrations of commuters and motorists because of the gridlock caused by the ongoing construction of the city’s drainage canal system along

the city’s Traffic Post number one, commonly known as the ‘junction’.

P/Lt. Colonel Brendon Palisoc, Dagupan City chief of police, admitted that there is no overnight solution to the traffic woes in the ‘junction’ area with the ongoing construction.

In an interview over Aksyon Radyo, Palisoc said he is set to meet with Dagupan City Mayor Belen T. Fernandez and Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) Chief Arvin Decano for a discussion of options available to the city government.

Palisoc said he is considering the suggestion of Ashok Vasandani, to temporarily make the PNR Road in Barangay Mayombo a two-way street to help reduce the number of vehicles going in and out of the eastward road of the junction.

Palisoc also suggests a public consultation with residents and establishments in the area. (Ahikam Pasion)
