Minor dies in San Nicolas road mishap

A 16-year-old boy was declared dead on arrival after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a parked harvester in San Nicolas town on Tuesday, February 22.

Victim Russel Mendoza Oriña, grade 9 student, a resident of San Nicolas, was speeding when the incident occurred.

Police and witnesses said the victim was not wearing a helmet when the incident happened.

Thieves cart away P40-k worth from Basista school

STILL unidentified suspects broke into the Cabeldatan Elementary School in Basista town.

School caretaker Jovito Macaraeg, 70, resident of same area, arrived early Wednesday morning, February 22, only to find the principal’s office and other classrooms open.

Locks were destroyed, while rooms ransacked.

School admin inventory said three televisions, LPG tanks, and grocery items, totaling to P40K were stolen.

Police are currently probing the matter.
