Decomposing floating body found under a bridge

A PNP-SOCO personnel gathers evidence to help investigation.

A BODY of an unidentified man now in state of decomposition was found floating in the water under the Linoc Bridge in Barangay Linoc, Binmaley at past 6:00 a.m. on January 26.

The floating corpse was found by four pupils on their way to the Linoc Elementary School who reported the matter to the owner of the house adjacent to the Linoc Bridge who in turn promptly reported it to Barangay Captain Nita Baniqued who alerted the Binmaley Police.

Baniqued noted that there was no way that the cadaver could be identified as his face has already decomposed and the color of his shirt can no longer be distinguished.

The wounds on the body showed the victim was first tortured by the perpetrators then shot.

Moreover, the body had big stones strapped to it apparently to ensure that it will not float after it was dumped under the bridge.

A team from the Scene of the Crime Investigation Office of the police from Lingayen arrived and examined the victim and will further conduct autopsy to establish his identity.

The cadaver was brought to the Fabia Funeral Homes in Binmaley and Baniqued called on residents of Binmaley and from other towns who may have missing kin or friends to check the body at the funeral parlor.  (Butch Uka)
