Septuagenarian loses P2.7-M worth of jewelry, P18K cash to thieves
A SEPTUAGENARIAN in Brgy. Anonas in Urdaneta City accused two women of stealing her jewelry worth P2.7 million and P18,000 cash.
According to the Urdaneta PNP, the incident happened when the victim, Benita Rama Alcantara, 79, and her son locked up their house before they traveled to Baguio. When they returned that evening, they found their belongings scattered but because it was dark, they decided to clean the mess the next day.
But when Mrs. Alcantara entered her room and opened her cabinet, she found that the storage box containing her P2.75 million worth of jewelry were missing, together with P18,000 cash beside it.
The CCTV camera in their house recorded when and how the suspects identified as Jasmin Joy Arnobit and Sheila Marie Ancheta, both of Brgy. Yatyat, in Laoac town, forcibly entered their house after they left for Baguio.
The victim is bent on filing a case for theft against the suspects. (104.7 IFM Dagupan Jhon Caranto).
