10K residents benefit from Cash-for-Work program
PAID FOR 10-DAYS WORK
SOME 10,000 residents of eastern Pangasinan benefited from the Cash For Work Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The beneficiaries were from the towns of Asingan, Natividad, Sta. Maria, Tayug and Umingan.
The Risk Resiliency Program-Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Disaster Risk Reduction (RRP-CCAM DRR) Cash for Work (CFW) program enabled them to get paid for their 10-day work in communal gardening and other community projects.
The program was implemented by DSWD Field Office 1 with the assistance of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) to provide income to target beneficiaries, particularly those in dire financial stress, have no work, in physical disability, senior citizens, solo parents, persons belonging to the indigenous community and others.
