Increase in business permits in Mangaldan, fake news
THE Mangaldan local government described as fake news the rumor circulating throughout social media that fees for the application and renewal of business permits in 2023 will increase.
Elma Aquino, officer-in-charge at the Business Permits and Licensing Section (BPLS) of Mangaldan, flatly denied there will be an increase in business permit fees.
The status quo in the fees of business permits was ordered by Mayor Bona Fe de Vera-Parayno.
“Our town mayor said the increase in fees are not timely as there is still a pandemic, and we are still recovering from it,” said Aquino.
Aquino added that business permits are automatically computed by the town’s Integrated BPLS, where fees for new applications will be based on the declared capital, while the fees for the renewal of business permits will be based on the gross income for the previous year.
New businesses applying for business permits, she said, should secure an application form, Barangay Clearance (for Barangay Poblacion), Market Clearance (for Public Market Applicants), residence certificate issued in Mangaldan, lease of contract (if the place of business is rented), certification from the Department of Trade and Industry, and sworn statement of capital investment.
Application and renewal of business permits begins on January 3 to January 20, 2023. (Ahikam Pasion)
