3.2 million tourist visit Manaoag so far

MANAOAG registered 3.2 million tourist arrivals from January to October this year, according to Provincial Tourism Officer Malou Elduayan during the launching of the Marian Pilgrimage Circuit held at the  Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag.

The number one tourist attraction in Pangasinan, she said, is the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag which is regularly visited by pilgrims and devotees from all over the Philippines and overseas .

This is followed by the popular beaches along the coasts from San Fabian to Western Pangasinan.

Before the pandemic, there were  8.55 million a day arrivals in 12 key tourism sites in Pangasinan that were recorded.

At least 72.9 percent of these or 6.23 million visited The Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag.

She said tourist arrivals are expected to surge more with the launching of the Marian Pilgrimage Circuit, which promotes religious tourism, by DOT Region 1. (Ella Garcia)

Pangasinan farmers receive tractors, seeds 

EIGHTY farmer associations of Pangasinan received P25 million worth of hand tractors while another 80 received 200 bags of hybrid corn seeds from the provincial government.

The beneficiaries were farmer associations from 33 towns and three cities, were provided the farm equipment to improve workload and costs of tilling.

Vice Gov. Mark Lambino, who led in the distribution of the tractors and hybrid corn seeds, said these were intended to boost the harvest as well as the incomes of farmers. (Rona Racca)
