Dead infant found in Dagupan River
A dead infant inside a plastic garbage bag was found by the river in Barangay Malued in Dagupan City on Friday, December 9, 2022.
Police investigators said some residents living close to the river found a garbage plastic bag. When they opened it, they found the baby, with its umbilical cord still intact.
Before the incident, concerned citizens saw an unfamiliar woman near the river.
Police immediately conducted a profiling of pregnant women in the vicinity of the area.
The baby was immediately buried, while probe is still ongoing.

Epileptic man bathes in river, drowns
A 21-year-old man with epilepsy drowned in a river in Lingayen on Friday, December 9.
Victim was identified as Marvin dela Cruz, resident of Barangay Pangapisan Norte, of the said town.
Police investigation showed the victim went alone to San Jose River in Barangay Libsong West and took a bath, and was only eventually located lifeless.
Victim’s brother Larry Ballesteros said the victim has been diagnosed with epilepsy so the police theorized that it caused him to drown while swimming.
Last November, dela Cruz also went to swim in the said river and also had seizures but he was rescued back in time.

Man dies in road accident
A 21-year-old motorcycle rider died after a road crash in Barangay Poblacion, Anda, on Saturday, December 10.
Victim Leonardo Calado, a native of Barangay Dolaoan in Anda town, currently residing in Caloocan City, was driving his motorcycle when he lost control when he tried to negotiate a sharp curve.
He was thrown on the road when his motorcycle crashed in the gutter. He was rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival due to the injuries he sustained.
The victim was not wearing helmet when the accident happened.

Fruit vendor nabbed over theft
A fruit vendor in Urdaneta City was arrested by authorities after an alleged theft complaint.
Police arrested Arminda Austodillo, 32, resident of Zone 1 Barangay Marcos in Rosario, La Union, after allegedly stealing a belt bag containing PHP 17,000 cash and a wristwatch, owned by Redentor Ibaso, 29, of Barangay Poblacion, Urdaneta City.
Police investigation showed Austodillo went inside the victim’s stall, and quickly took his bag and fled.
But Ibasco’s wife saw her and immediately alerted market guards and managed to catch the suspect and turned her over to the police. The victims have lodged a theft case against Austodillo.

Beggar dies in vehicular accident
A vagrant died after he was hit by a tricycle in Barangay Poblacion, Alaminos City on Monday, December 12.
Victim Sonny Legaspi died after the tricycle driven by Sivilla de Ocampo, 53, resident of Barangay Amandiego, hit him when he suddenly crossed the street.
He was rushed by responders and policemen who were just nearby to the hospital, but was was declared dead on arrival.

Drunk balikbayan dies after motorcycle crash
AN Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) died after his motorcycle crashed in Mabini town, Monday, December 12.
Victim Roderick Ballares, 42, resident of Barangay Calzada, was traversing the barangay road in the area when he lost balance due to his drunkenness. The victim landed on a rice paddy nearby.
He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
