Crime incidents in Pangasinan on a downward trend
THE Pangasinan Police Provincial Office said the crime rate in 48 towns and cities of the province continue to decrease.
The accomplishment report of the Pangasinan PPO from November 20-26 cited:
- 10 buy-bust operations that resulted in the arrest of 11 persons.
- 50 wanted persons were arrested, five were considered as “most wanted persons”.
- 3 persons were arrested for illegal gambling and confiscated P3,000 worth of bets.
- 6 were arrested for illegal possession of firearms; eight firearms seized and eight other firearms were returned to the police.
Meanwhile, the police conducted 10,000 checkpoint operations and Oplan Sita in the province. (Dona Racca)

3 tots blamed for burning municipal bus
THREE minors are suspected to be behind the burning of the municipal bus of the Calasiao local government while parked in Barangay Poblacion East, near the office of the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) .
The Calasiao police said CCTV footages showed three children entered the bus and played inside the bus before smoke started to fill the bus.
In an interview, P/Lt. Oliver Sari, chief investigator of the Calasiao police, said the parents of the three children were invited to the police station to show them CCTV footages. The three children were endorsed to the the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office for processing.
Damage on the municipal bus was estimated at around P500,000. (Jhon Caranto)

LGU San Manuel appeals to vandals to spare Christmas decors
THE officials of San Manuel town appealed to their residents not to vandalize or steal the lights and decorations that adorn the town’s Christmas Village, now a big crowd-drawer at night in the municipality.
The appeal was made after reports that some of the displays were vandalized. In its Facebook Page, the town government asked their residents and visitors visiting the Christmas Village nightly to help protect the area from thievery in order to keep the colorful illumination going without interruption.
Reacting to the FB post, a number of residents of San Manuel said they support to protect the Christmas lights and decorations from being stolen and vandalized “to unite the townspeople in one Christian spirit during the Yuletide season.” (Jhon Caranto)
