“Paeng’ damaged houses, bancas in Dasol
RESIDENTS of Barangay Petal in Dasol town are in dire straits after five houses and several bancas were damaged by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng last weekend.
The Dasol Police Station reported four homes located along the shore line were partially destroyed, while one was totally washed away during the storm surge.
Fishermen’s 16 bancas were destroyed while five were washed away only to be found totally wrecked.
Dasol Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office officer-in-charge Andrew Diaz said no resident was hurt during the storm surge because the villagers responded positively to the call to evacuate.
Displaced residents are now under the municipality’s care. (Ahikam Pasion)
