Adopt BIDA Solusyon to avoid virus infection – DOH

DESPITE lower cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and zero monkeypox infection in the Ilocos Region, the Department of Health-Ilocos Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD 1) reminded residents anew not to be complacent in practicing the minimum health standards to avoid virus infection.

Dr. Rheuel Bobis, spokesperson of DOH-CHD 1, reiterated the importance of minimum health standards in preventing COVID-19 and monkeypox infection and urged the public to practice the DOH’s BIDA (Best-fitting mask, Isolate when sick, Double up protection with vaccines and boosters, and ensure good Airflow) Solusyon.

As of September 5, DOH Ilocos Region recorded 124,369 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 while there is no confirmed case of monkeypox.

He added that the COVID-19 hospital utilization rates in the region are at their lowest levels that ranges from only 15 to 20 percent but hospitals in the region have committed 79 hospital beds and have prepared isolation and quarantine facilities in case of monkeypox transmission.
