Comelec lists activities for 2022 Brgy-SK elections
THE Commission on Elections (COMELEC) – Pangasinan released the calendar of activities for the 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE) amid calls for another round of postponement in both houses of Congress.
Atty. Marino Salas, provincial election supervisor, said the COMELEC will continue its preparation for the 2022 BSKE until a decision is reached about moves to postpone the elections.
The COMELEC calendar of activities includes filing of certificates of candidacy from October 6 to 13, except on Sundays.
An election gun ban will be implemented from October 6 to December 12, while the eight-day campaign period will begin from November 25 up until December 3.
Salas said the Republic Act 8189, also known as the System of Continuing Registration Act will be implemented until a postponement is ratified.
He added that the schedule of the resumption of voter registration nationwide will depend on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s decision. (Ahikam Pasion)
