THE town of Tayug was included by the National Nutrition Council (NCC) in Region 1 in its new shepherding program to raise the level of awareness of their nutritionists on proper nutrition to ensure that the town’s children are given better nutrition.

This after a validation conducted by representatives of NNC 1 on the town’s “Tutok Kainan” program.  The move was one of the strategies of NNC  1 to bring its program on health and nutrition down to the communities especially now that prices of all commodities have skyrocketed because of inflation.

Th council observed  that in this time of economic crisis, many households choose to buy cheaper and less nutritious foods in order to stretch their limited budgets.

Representatives of NNC 1 continues to visit towns and cities in Region 1 to know the proper intervention measures that will be undertaken in order to raise the level of nutrition and improve the health of the people. (104.7 IFM-Dagupan)
