DSWD warns of fake documents in education assistance fund
THE Department of Social Welfare and Development Office (DSWD) Region 1 has warned unscrupulous persons who are faking documents to benefit from the educational assistance fund.
Alarmed by report that in order to avail of the education assistance fund, DSWD Regional Director Marie Angela Gopalan said anyone who would be found to have deliberately faked their documents in order to avail of the cash payout of the educational assistance fund for students-at-risk will be charged in court.
Gopalan said those who already obtained their educational assistance by using spurious documents, fake school registration and identification cards, will be charged and will be required to return the money.
Based on latest data from DSWD regional office, it already distributed P20.4 million to 5,715 beneficiaries of the educational assistance in Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte. (104.7 IFM-Dagupan)
