Price of “puto” set to increase due to rise on sugar price
EXPECT the price of your favorite Calasiao “puto” to go up all because the price of sugar in the market has gone up.
According to some “puto” vendors, the price of sugar has skyrocketed due to dwindling supply while members of the Calasiao Puto Producers and Vendors Association said the price escalation of “puto” is expected because of the chain reaction effect caused by inflation.
The amount of price increase will depend on the consensus that will be reached by the members of the association.
Presently, one kilo of plain “puto” costs P110 per kilo and P130 per kilo for the flavored “puto”. (104.7 IFM-Dagupan)
