Price of white onion reaches P380 per kilo
THE price of white onions in the market is not expected to stabilize till after three weeks, according to Engr. Rosendo So, founder of the Pangasinan-based Samahan ng Industriya at Agricultura (Sinag).
So was referring to the expected arrival of imported white onions from China in three weeks that will improve the supply of white onions in the market.
He said the low supply of white onions pushed the price of the commodity to P380 per kilo, the highest this year so government had to import from China because of the limited supply available in the market.
Bayambang is major producer both the white and the red creole varieties but pests and bad weather seriously affected the production this year. (104.7 IFM-Dagupan)
