NEW MAYOR BELEN APPOINTEES
THE appointments of two new senior officials of the Dagupan City government as department heads were confirmed in separate resolutions passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) on Tuesday (July 26).
Councilor Alfie Fernandez, chairman on the committee of civil service appointments, moved for the appointment of Atty. Aurora Valle as the new City Legal Officer.
Atty. Catleya de Guzman was also confirmed as Mayor Belen Fernandez’s chief of staff.
Fernandez said both lawyers Valle and De Guzman possess all the qualifications and none of disqualifications as city government department heads.
Meanwhile, the confirmation of the appointment of Atty. Norman Alex Lomboy as city administrator, was differed by the SP pending his submission of a document to the civil service appointments committee.
With the confirmation on the appointments of Atty. Valle and De Guzman and the appointment of Lomboy, Mayor Fernandez can finally organize her administration’s Bids and Awards Committee (BAC).
Meanwhile, Fernandez convened the department heads to begin discussing plans in preparation for the submission of a proposed 2023 annual city budget to the Sangguniang Panlungsod. (Leonardo Micua)
