Six-wheeler truck hits 5 parked tricycles

A six-wheeler truck fell in a fishpond after it plowed through five unattended parked motorized tricycles along the Jose de Venecia Expressway at about 4:10 a.m. on June 30, according to the Dagupan City Police.

The truck with Plate No. CAL 7696 registered under the name of one Marlon Sicat of Angeles City, Pampanga, was driven by Marcelino Genese, 39, of Barangay Rabon, San Fabian. Genese was unhurt.

The mishap happened when the truck was proceeding to the south direction and Genese momentarily fell asleep that resulted in his truck hitting the six unattended tricycles by the sideroad.

The unattended tricycles that were rammed are owned by Gerald Erfe, 24, of Sitio Talaib, Calmay; Judy Callanta, 56, of Amado Street, Tapuac; Dennis Castillo, 30, of Tapuac; Jason Agsalud, 27, of Sitio Talaib, Tapuac; and Felix Torio, 29, of Talaib, Tapuac.

As a result of the impact, the concrete barriers along the highway were destroyed before the truck landed on its side. (Ahikam Pasion/ Butch Uka)
