THE local government of Bayambang is set to receive another economic boost as a $40-million battery manufacturing plant is set to be built in the area, which would provide jobs to residents of the town.

During the inauguration of Governor Ramon Guico III on Thursday, June 29, the Strategic Alliance Holdings Inc., a company based in Bayambang town represented by former Bayambang Mayor Cezar Quiambao, inked a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the US-based GR8 Sea Holdings Inc (GR8 Eco Solutions Corporation) for the establishment of a manufacturing plant.

Mayor Quiambao said the Bayambang government will provide a five-hectare land where the manufacture and assembly of battery energy storage systems will be constructed.

This will be one of the first major investment projects to be inked under the Guico administration.

In the inaugural speech of the new governor, Guico announced the provincial government will invite more investors in the province, and to establish economic zones, one of his campaign promises. (Ahikam Pasion)
