THE inauguration for the Social Welfare Multi-Purpose Building in Rosales town held last week by DSWD and Abono party-list officials on a lot donated by Abono party list Representative Conrado Estrella III. and his family.

The Phase 1 of the said project was already completed while its Phase 2 is 55% finished. It is expected to be completed by December 2022 by the Department of Public Works and Highways-Pangasinan 3rd District Engineering Office.

The Abono party-list is providing P70-million for the construction of the three-storey building on the 2,500 sq.m lot.

The project, with a total floor area of 1,840 square meters to include sleeping quarters  for 250 employees and facilities for persons with disabilities (PWD), will be equipped with service elevators and ramps and spacious outdoor and indoor waiting areas.

In a message, Rep. Estrella said, “This is no longer a dream, it is now a reality. We are glad to have you as one of the citizens of Rosales, Pangasinan. It is also our dream for DSWD Field Office 1 to bring the government closer to the people. Not only because you are a public servant but most of all, you being a Christian should serve your fellowmen.”

DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista graced the event and expressed his gratitude to Estrella as he graced the soft-inauguration.

“This greatly benefits the agency for it intends to be DSWD Field Office 1’s permanent Regional Office since it does not have a real property to put up one. The impact of this will immensely be felt by our vulnerable and marginalized constituents with the building’s client-friendly facilities that will surely lead to the mirroring of a more prompt and compassionate service,” Secretary Bautista said.

According to DSWD Field Office 1 regional director Marie Angela Gopalan, “This soft-inauguration is a milestone event since we will have our future regional office here in Pangasinan.”   (PIA Pangasinan/AMMB)
